A group of parameters or factors are assessed to describe the organisation that contains the job being evaluated. The factors relate to the scope and diversity of the organisation’s product/service range; the markets it serves; the size of the organisation; and the Industry sector. These factors are used to calibrate the Job Evaluation point score for jobs which may be similar in content, but which are in organisations of different scope and size and therefore have different overall and relative value.
These factors are included in the job evaluation score algorithm because they impact on the value and complexity of the knowledge and skill needed to work within the organisation.
The factors are:
· The diversity of the organisation's markets and products/services.
· The geographic scope of the organisation’s operations.
