The table below sets out the data fields used in the New Zealand surveys:

Position
|
Select the relevant position code from the drop-list

Client Reference
|
A voluntary field that allows you to identify the position or job holder when updating data and viewing your client specific reports.
|

Number of Job Holders
|
Typically "1"
This field should only be used to show multiple job holders where all fields in the record are identical. This is actually very rare, as even where Base Salary is the same, other data fields are likely to vary.
Where an organisation employs more than one person in a single role, all records should be submitted individually to ensure accurate analysis of all data.

Years in position
|
Years the job holder has been in the current position since appointment (not how long they have been with the organisation).
|
|
Asset
|
Total asset base for your organisation
|
|
Industry
|
The primary industry of the organisation or operating division.
|
|
Location
|
The primary/physical location where this job holder is employed/based.
|
|
Turnover
|
Total annual turnover (or operating budget for not for profit organisations) for your organisation
|
|
Employees
|
Total staff employed by your organisation.
|
|
Part time Employees
|
Include part time staff. Figures need to be grossed up to a full time rate based on a 40 hour week.

Current Base Salary
|
Enter current gross annual salary (pre-tax and exclusive of any additional cash payments or benefits) as at the date of the survey (i.e. 1 March or 1 September in the current year)

Previous Base Salary
|
Base Salary at the date twelve months prior to the current survey.
This is required only for job holders who have been in current position for 12 months or more, where the Years in Position field is set to 1 or more.

|
Bonus Paid
|
Enter gross amount paid as bonus in the last 12 months
|
|
Maximum Bonus Opportunity
|
Enter gross amount available as bonus to employee in last 12 months (express as an amount). Leave this field blank if no maximum has been set.

|
Commission
|
Enter amount paid in last 12 months as commission on sales achieved
|
|
Directors Fees
|
Enter amount paid as director's fees in last 12 months
|
|
Housing Allowance
|
Enter amount paid as housing allowance in last 12 months
|
|
Overtime
|
Indicate if any overtime has been paid in the past twelve months (enter 1 if "Yes" or 0 if none paid).
Note: we do not collect data on the actual payments made as Overtime.

Shift Premium
|
Indicate if any shift premium has been paid in the past twelve months (enter 1 if "Yes" or 0 if none paid)

KiwiSaver
|
Enter the percentage contribution made by the employe.r
Do not use this field for non-KiwiSaver superannuation schemes

|
Superannuation
|
Enter annual amount, excluding ESCT, contributed by the employer (state the $ value)
|
|
Car Provided
|
Select the appropriate category for any vehicle provided for private use (this category means motor size e.g. 2.0l, 4 – cyl (please follow the codes provided).

Car Use
|
Select percentage of time the company car is available for private use – the proportion of time outside of work the car is available for private use.
Note that it does not matter if this is not fully utilised: it is the availability of the vehicle which creates the benefit, not the actual usage.

|
Car Allowance
|
Annual cash alternative provided in lieu of a vehicle; do not include mileage reimbursement for use of own car
|
|
Expenses
|
Enter annual amount paid to cover expenses that do not have to be claimed or justified on an item by item claim – a cash payment
|
|
Shares
|
Enter current market value of shares issued in the previous 12 months as part of remuneration; do not enter the number of shares issued
|
|
Home Telecommunications
|
Select the category which best describes the home telecommunications options paid for by the employer.
|
|
Medical Benefits
|
Premium paid for medical insurance by the employer (a dollar amount).
|
|
Additional Annual Leave
|
Indicate if any additional annual leave, over the statutory minimum of four weeks per annum, is provided (enter 1 if "Yes" or 0 if "No")

|
Other
|
Enter value of any other cash benefits or allowances made to or on behalf of employee – gross payment (e.g. transfer grant or equalization allowance etc.)
